Endometrial Ablation
Endometrial ablation is an outpatient surgical procedure performed in order to treat heavy uterine bleeding, as an alternative to hysterectomy when medical treatment has failed or is not desired. The lining of the uterine cavity is destroyed by “burning” in order to lighten or eliminate menstrual bleeding. This procedure should not be done if a woman wants to get pregnant.
